Airplane etiquette

AAE-Window-sized

With frequent delays, oversold flights, and crowded conditions, travel can lead to heightened tempers and shortened fuses. It’s not always easy to keep etiquette top-of-mind on long trips, but showing kindness to your fellow travelers can drastically improve someone’s frustrating experience. We spoke with business travel expert Road Warriorette to get insight into the most important etiquette rules for air travel.

Here's what she had to say >>

Newark – Liberty International (EWR)

Newark Liberty International Airport, is one of the 3 main airports servicing New York City (along with JFK and LaGuardia), along with being a major international hub for United Airlines. The airport offers quick transportation to Manhattan and points north, or Philadelphia and points south via the AirTrain. Newark opened in 1928 as the nation's first airfield and commercial terminal.  It added "Liberty" to its name in 2002, in honor of the victims of Sept 11. >> Here’s what you need to know about Newark Airport

Delta brings back free meals in economy class

Bucking the in-flight trends of the last 15 years, Delta has announced they will begin offering free meals in the main cabin for select domestic flights, starting in March. Initially they will serve on transcontinental routes between New York JFK and San Francisco/Los Angeles, expanding in April to other markets including Boston, Seattle, and Washington D.C.

This decision makes sense, as transcontinental flights are often as long as certain international routes, which have traditionally had meals served. Depending on the time of day passengers can choose from a breakfast, snack, or sandwich option. Delta did a pilot in December with favorable feedback, leading to the expanded meal service. It’s reported that American Airlines and United Airlines are engaged in similar studies.

As meals are not yet offered on all flights, it’s recommended that passengers check their individual flight information carefully when making plans for in-flight eating.

iTranslate voice app

Translate-app

Winning a contract is often done with a final face-to-face meeting, what better way to stand out from the competition than by making the effort to communicate with a client in their native language.

Voice to voice translation gives you that opportunity. The iTranslate Voice app translates what you dictate and then plays an audio clip. If you prefer to type instead of speaking to the app you can type your desired phrase or sentence before playing the translated audio.

The app is free to download on both the App Store and Google Play.

There is an option to upgrade to iTranslate Pro which gives unlimited translation access and the option for air translate between two devices.  For more information see, itranslatevoice.com.
