Giving back to our community is an initiative that Uniglobe Travel Designers is passionate about. Through our community outreach program the team logged over 260 hours of volunteerism in 2015 with events such as volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio, participating in the Spike Out Sepsis volleyball tournament, fundraising for and walking 5ks for UNCF’s Walk for Education and Susan G. Komen Columbus’ Walk for the Cure, and participating in the Salvation Army’s Adopt-A-Family program.
Through Besa, team members also participated in working with My Very Own Blanket, the Columbus Diaper Coalition, the Van Buren Shelter, the Tom Fennessy/Mark Harden Back to School Project, Meals-on-Wheels, the Mid-Ohio Foodbank/Urban Farms of Central Ohio, and the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resource Center.
Uniglobe Travel Designers also has a program, the Vitamin D Vacation Giveback Program, in which we make a donation to a community partner for every vacation we book. We have been working with Nationwide Children’s Hospital since the program’s initial launch in 2010 and now have six community partners and growing! Since its launch Uniglobe Travel Designers has donated over $30,000 to our community partners through the Vitamin D Vacation Giveback Program.
Our commitment to community resonates with our global network as well. Through donations to our global charity - Plan International - for basic life necessities such as clean water, disaster relief, shelter and education, UNIGLOBE locations are helping to lift young children out of poverty in some of the poorest regions of the world.
We are inspired by the team and are looking forward to accomplish even more for the community in 2016!
