Uniglobe Travel Designers Owners Featured in Columbus Alive

Sisters Elizabeth and Jacqueline Blount have traveled the world -- and now they share what they've discovered so others can enjoy the trip of a lifetime. The co-owners of Uniglobe Travel Designers (gouniglobe.com) in Whitehall shared what makes an awesome vacation.

Where's the most memorable place you've ever traveled?

Elizabeth: I'd say Barcelona. It was an energetic place. The city was just vibrant. The food, the culture - we just had an amazing time when we were there. We went on a Mediterranean cruise last year, and we spent two weeks throughout Europe.

Jacqueline: To Japan. I spent 10 days traveling to five cities. It was such a unique experience, just to see that there's another whole world out there. I ate things I thought I would never try.

What's one place you'd like to go in the future ?

Jacqueline: Greece is at the top of my list. It just looks beautiful from the pictures. It seems like there's so much history there with Athens, Mykonos, Santorini and the islands.

Elizabeth: South America - Brazil or Chile. We have not traveled throughout there yet, and we want to. Also, actually we're thinking about going to Prague and Vienna, so we're all over the place.

Other than using a travel agent, what's the secret to a great vacation?

Elizabeth: I think it's planning and disconnecting from the world. We always say that when you go on vacation, you should leave any type of connection at home. That's how you can regroup, gain a better perspective, have an open mind and come back refreshed.

Jacqueline: I would say it's really figuring out what you want out of a vacation - whether you want adventure, whether you want relaxation, whether you want cultural activities. A lot of people come to us and say, "I want a cheap vacation." Is that really what you want? A lot of things people think they can't do, they can.

What's it like owning a business with your sister?

Jacqueline: It's fun. We balance each other out. We're best friends, so it's getting to hang out with your best friend every day. Of course, there are times when we butt heads. Our strengths and weaknesses align with each other.

Elizabeth: Sometimes I get a little stressed, and she's able to calm me down. We do have a lot of fun. We work really hard, but then we'll play hard, too.

Uniglobe Travel Designers raises over $2000 for Charity Through Vitamin D Vacation Giveback Program

Columbus, Ohio August 30, 2011 – Who would have thought when you take a vacation, you could change a life? Uniglobe Travel Designers has implemented a ground breaking program that does just that.  Through the Vitamin D Vacation Giveback™ Program, Uniglobe Travel Designers gives back to Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) and the Cancer Support Community Central Ohio while promoting health and wellness through vacations.

Deeply rooted in the Uniglobe Travel Designers family is a philanthropic heart. The owners, mother Elsie Blount and daughters Jacqueline and Elizabeth Blount have been a constant staple of ‘giving’ in the Columbus community for years now. In their eyes, it was time to mix their business with their giving pleasure. The family team worked to devise a plan to allow their business to work in efforts to give back to the community. Thus, the Vitamin D Vacation Giveback Program ™ was born.

The Vitamin D Vacation Give Back Program ™ was officially launched in October of 2010. The program operates in such a way that anyone that uses Uniglobe Travel Designers’ free vacation planning services to book a vacation package, the agency will donate $25 back to either Nationwide Children’s Hospital or the Cancer Support Community. “As a small business, it is difficult for us to contribute enough to make a significant impact.  Through this program, we hope to increase our ability to continue to give back to the community,” owner, Jacqueline Blount states.

To date, $1,500.00 has been raised in donations for the hospital and over $500 has been raised for the Cancer Support Community. The money donated to NCH helps to enhance patient care, advocacy, research and education. Most importantly, each donation gives the gift of hope to children and families everywhere.  The money donated to the Cancer Support Community is used to enhance their support and wellness programs through the use of support groups, workshops, as well as physical and mental programs that allow those affected by cancer to restore hope.

Successfully, the program serves a dual purpose. The first, of course, is to give back to the community in order to support the Blount family’s vision and mission. The second is to promote health and wellness through vacations.

A vacation plays a significant role in ones health. Vacations are a great way to break the stress cycle, catch up on some much needed rest and stock up on Vitamin D provided by the rejuvenating rays of the sun. Along with the many other benefits, vacations will allow employees to return to work refreshed and ready to go with an improved job performance.

Although proud of their past success, the effort of the program does not stop at the already earned $2,000.00. The Uniglobe team is working hard to raise awareness in hopes to rapidly grow the number of donations.

UNIGLOBE Travel Designers Revolutionizes a way for Companies to Give Back to the Community While Revitalizing Their Employees

Columbus, Ohio February 5, 2010 – Uniglobe Travel Designers has created a groundbreaking program designed to give back to charities while promoting health and wellness within the business community.

With the current state of the economy, it has become increasingly difficult for companies to donate to charities and for people to take vacations.  Recognizing the importance of giving back to the community and the necessity for people to take a break, Uniglobe Travel Designers created the Vitamin D Vacation Giveback™ program.

The Vitamin D Vacation Giveback™ program will provide companies the ability to offer their employees free vacation planning services through Uniglobe Travel Designers.  These services will include expertise in destination selection; cost savings through negotiated relationships with suppliers; access to travel deals; time savings; a trusted advocate and much more.  After an employee books their vacation, Uniglobe Travel Designers will donate a portion of the sale back to the company for the charity of their choice.

Uniglobe Travel Designers is committed to helping improve the lives of those who are less fortunate.  “As a small business, it is difficult for us to contribute enough to make a significant impact.  Through this program, we hope to increase our ability to continue to give back to the community.”

For additional information on the news that is the subject of this release, contact Jacqueline Blount.  This program is available to any company in the United States and is valid for anyone affiliated with the company (employees, volunteers, board members, family members, etc.).

UNIGLOBE Travel Designers is Growing (Again)!

AUGUST 4, 2005

VANCOUVER – Worldwide travel agency franchisor UNIGLOBE Travel today announced its expansion into the fast-growing travel market in China. This latest addition to UNIGLOBE Travel’s global network means the industry leader now provides travel management services to SME’s (small to medium-size enterprises) in 30 countries worldwide.

UNIGLOBE has awarded the master franchise rights for the Shanghai and Hong Kong regions to The Sincere Company Limited, which will operate a wholly owned subsidiary, UNIGLOBE Travel One (China) Ltd., for said purpose.

The Sincere Company Limited, a Hong Kong publicly listed company since 1917, has business interests in China, North America, Australia and in the United Kingdom. It operates a variety of business ventures including department store retailing, hotels, restaurants, real estate, property development, insurance and food service. Its first department store opened in 1900; today, the company has a shareholder’s equity in excess of HK $1 billion.

“We are very pleased to expand the UNIGLOBE Travel brand and system into the China travel market,” said Martin H. Charlwood, President and Chief Operating Officer of Uniglobe Travel International. “The Sincere Company Limited has a prestigious history and we look forward to working together with much success. China is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world and represents tremendous potential for the travel industry. We are very optimistic that this new region will gear up to meet the rising demand for outbound travel, and provide for the ability to network with our Uniglobe agencies worldwide.”

“In fact the WTO (World Tourism Organization) ranks China as the fifth most important tourism destination in the world,” said Charlwood. “Additionally, IATA forecasts China to be the fastest-growing outbound market from 2004 to 2008 with an AAGR (average annual growth rate) of 12.5%. ” As such, this is the first of at least four Regional master licences Uniglobe anticipates awarding in China going forward.

“After much consideration, we found that UNIGLOBE Travel was the industry leader in terms of business tools, training programs and global brand recognition in the travel industry,” said Philip Ma, Group Managing Director, The Sincere Company Limited. “We are looking at setting some aggressive expansion plans for China and look forward to playing our part in strengthening the global profile of UNIGLOBE.”
